Building Your Home Based Business With A Firm Foundation

Hi,

We have been talking about marketing on the internet with social bookmarking and using keywords.  Using these techniques are great but building a home based business is more than just getting leads through these avenues.  I think you will appreciate the information below in learning how to build a strong home based business.

Building a home based business that will create wealth and freedom for many years to come is a dream for so many people.  However, if you don’t build your business with a firm foundation your business might not last as long as you would like.

Here are a few keys to help you build your home based business, whatever it is, with a firm and lasting foundation.

Key Number One: Find quality prospects

Believe me, I understand what it’s like to be so desperate to make money from home that you’ll accept just about anyone into your business. However, if you want to build your business to last you’ll want to find people who are going to work hard and are in it for the long haul.

Of course there is no real way to know how serious someone is about building a business.  You can only judge them for how they act and what they say, but if someone is always complaining and finding fault in everything right out of the gate you can probably guess that they will eventually end up quitting.

You want to find people who are so passionate about working from home that they won’t let negativity get them down.  When you find a team of people who will work and work hard for as long as it takes to succeed you will have a strong and lasting team.

Key Number Two: Always be honest with people

Pretty much all home business owners will have the opportunity to stretch the truth a little from time to time, you know to sweeten the deal.  However, if you want to build a business that lasts you want to make sure you are always being 100% honest with people.

You see, stretching the truth about any aspect of your business could give people false hope or higher expectations.  And that means that they will probably get discouraged much, much easier.

When people get discouraged sooner or later they are probably going to quit and that is bad news for you and your business.

Key Number Three: Build your business steadily over time

Have you ever done this? You work really, really hard for a couple of weeks and then you work hardly at all for a while.  Then you work really, really hard for a month and then quit for a while longer?

Almost every home business owner I know has done this at least a couple of times.  However, it is actually best to build your business more consistently over time.  I’m not saying that you have to build it slow… just don’t shoot off like a rocket and then burn out after a month or two like a lot of people do.

When you build any type of business consistently rather than a little here or a little there you are sure to build it with a much firmer foundation.

By following these keys you will more than likely build a business that will last a very long time, and isn’t that what every home based business owner wants?

Home Business Success: It Is Important to Know Your “Why”

Women who work from home have a reason for doing so.  This article will help you get your “WHY”  if you don’t have one!

It can’t be said enough that the key to success in a home based business is all about what your mindset is like. It really is the truth. If you believe you’re going to be successful and you have a positive attitude there isn’t anything you can’t do.

I don’t know where you are in your business as you read this article. You may be new to a home based business, you may have been involved in your business for years, you might not even be in a business at all or just starting to think about working from home.

Wherever you are in the process if you don’t know your “why” STOP! Don’t do anything else for your business, don’t make another call, don’t send another email. Because if you don’t know your “why” I can almost promise you you’re not going to be successful in your business.

That’s a pretty bold statement, but it’s true. You will never win if you don’t know what you’re fighting for.

What do I mean when I say your “why”? I mean, WHY are you doing the business? WHY do you want to make money from home? WHY do you want the amazing lifestyle that a home based business offers you? WHY?

Now that you know what your why is let me tell you what it’s NOT. Your why is never money. You might think you are motivated by money but the truth is nobody really is. What you are motivated by is what the money can DO for you and what it can do for your family.

When you’re thinking about your why you’ll want to think about things that make you emotional. Your husband or wife, your kids, your parents, your childhood dreams… things that really hit you hard in the gut.

Now I can’t tell you exactly what your why is for you personally but let me give you some examples of what it is for a lot of people…

Being able to take care of your parents like they took care of you…

Being able to give your children a better life than you had…

Letting your spouse quit his or her job…

Living in the house of your dreams…
Giving more money to your church or a favorite charity….

Waking up every morning and doing exactly what YOU want to do everyday…

Saving for your kid’s college….

Those are just a few examples but I hope it gave you a few good ideas of what a “why” really is.

Here is another hint… you don’t have to have just one. You can have 2, 5, 10 even 20 “whys” as long as they are personal to you and help motivate you, you can have as many as you can think of.

Now that you’ve got your “why” you need to meditate on it every single day, don’t let it slip out of your mind. When you come home from a long day of work and you don’t feel like working on your business simply take a look at your “why” and if it’s strong enough it will push you to work a little harder even when you don’t want to.

There really is NOTHING that will motivate someone to success in this industry more than their “why”. Make sure you have one and make sure it’s a GREAT one.
